Some texts, marked with an asterisk, are available only to University of Virginia students and staff. It is possible to search hundreds of texts at once by keyword and to download texts to your computer. The site includes links to other electronic text collections on the Internet.

An interdisciplinary index to articles in more than 1,000 periodicals that can be searched using three different approaches. You can search by source (or author) or by permuterm (keywords used in the article titles). Or you can use the citation index to find out who is citing a particular source. Available in electronic format as AHSearch.

The Humanities: A Selective Guide to Information Sources. By Ron Blazek and Elizabeth Aversa. 4th ed. Englewood, Colo.: Libraries Unlimited, 1994.
A guide to research tools in the humanities, including the arts, philosophy, religion, and language and literature. Critical annotations are provided for each source listed.

Humanities Index. New York: Wilson, 1974-.
An interdisciplinary index to the most prominent English-language journals in the humanities, including art, music, history, and literature. Authors and subjects are listed, and the many cross-references and subheadings break down large topics into components. Book reviews are indexed separately at the end of each volume. Available in electronic format.
