Testimonials

“I flipped the course and introduced active learning. Students read and watch animations and videos at home (LaunchPad helps enormously here) and during class time students are working on application problems in groups. Including case studies in textbook support material will really help.”  Follow-up discussion quote:  “The media plan sounds like an improvement over the current system as long as it continues to offer animations and the different resources as well as the questions.  New questions types sound great.”

"I haven't really used Launchpad that much - so can't comment extensively on this one. I found it cumbersome when I used it in terms of handling grading and resetting questions. I switched to Sapling Learning in the second semester after I adopted Pierce' text. I previously used Mastering, which was fine. For Sapling, I like that students can access someone at Sapling to solve technical or grading issues. My class is often >100 students, and addressing these issues, which always come up at a low frequency, is time consuming….I still feel that doing the end-of-chapter problems is the most effective approach to mastering Genetics material." Follow-up interview discussion quote, "Combining the resources into one platform as you described it sound really interesting... I can’t wait to see how it turns out".
