PreLectures are animated, narrated, and visual explanations of key concepts in the chapter.  Each PreLecture activity is about 15 minutes long, broken into 2-minute segments. A student views conceptual animations, equations, worked examples, and text while listening to a guided explanation, checking for understanding along the way. At the end of each PreLecture, students respond to multiple-choice and free-response questions that gauge comprehension of the material.  Results provide important feedback that an instructor can use to tailor an upcoming lecture.
