CHAPTER ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we discuss the research design as a logical model of causal inference and distinguish among several research designs. In the first section, we give an example of how an experimental research design is implemented and explain the structure of experimental designs. We then examine ways of making causal inferences. Next, we look at the four components of research designs: comparison, manipulation, control, and generalizability. Finally, we present some commonly used experimental designs.
