In this chapter we learn that social science researchers can choose from many methods of gathering survey data, including mail questionnaires, personal interviews, telephone interviews, and online. We also explore the activities involved in conducting these types of surveys and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each. We conclude the chapter by comparing these methods.
