Module Outline
Module 20: Nature and Nurture in Psychology
Module 20 explains and discusses the nature-nurture question: How much of behavior can be attributed to genetics and heredity, and how much can be attributed to non-genetic influences such as upbringing? The opening of the module explains the nature-nurture question.
Next, the module provides a brief explanation of basic genetics and its influence on behavior. How psychology tries to study the influences of nature and nurture, primarily studies on twins, is included.
Lastly, Module 20 details the influence of the environment on behavior.  Early learning and brain development, peer and parental influences, as well as how culture impacts our everyday lives are all discussed.
