The Story of Development Told through the Lives of Real People
Scientific American: Lifespan Development goes beyond the traditional textbook with an interactive learning experience that explores human development through contemporary research, real-world applications, and diverse cultural perspectives. Using a chronological approach, the text follows the lives of 17 individuals and families from communities across the United States, helping students connect developmental science concepts to lived experiences across the life span.
Created by developmental science researchers Allison Sidle Fuligni and Andrew Fuligni in collaboration with writer and producer Jessica Bayne, the text is designed to support student learning through five evidence-informed approaches that help students build understanding, apply developmental science concepts, and make meaningful connections across topics.
