The University of New Haven customized a printed McCornack’s Choices & Connections, 3e by incorporating original material lifted from their previously customized second edition, and two additional chapters from Real Communication, 4e were added to the back of the book.

Additionally, two chapters from Reach Communications, 4e, and other original materials were added to their custom Launchpad course and access codes were printed on the inside front cover for easy access.

This custom textbook, titled COM 101, The World of Communication: The Human Storyteller, includes a 33-page introduction from the school, typeset into one cohesive design. The introduction discusses the field of communication, the COM 101 course, academic conduct expectations, and possible degrees in communication at Boston University. The base book for this custom is News Reporting & Writing 11e, with select chapters from Filmmaking in Action, The Film Experience 5e, Media & Culture 10e, Media in Society, and Telling the Story 5e added. The cover is completely custom, created specifically for Boston University, and includes school information.

Glendale Community College

This custom textbook includes 19 pages of original material, placed after the front matter and entitled "Introduction for Glendale Community College Students." The original material, which is styled to match the design of A Speaker's Guidebook, introduces students to the communication community at Glendale, including former students and current faculty members. The material also covers campus organizations, programs, and activities, as well as a description of the course the text has been customized for, "COM 225: Public Speaking." The TOC was edited to include the original materials. This custom uses the SE cover, with the colors changed and school/course information added.
